Sidney Perkowitz is a scientist and science writer. He is the Charles Howard Candler Professor Emeritus of Physics at Emory University, where he has pursued research on the properties of matter and produced more than 100 scientific papers and books.

As a creative, Sidney writes specifically to the non-scientific community, finding alternative methods of educating the public on science history, concepts, and events. Dr. Perkowitz has written books (including “Hollywood Chemistry”, “Hollywood Science”, and Frankenstein, How a Monster Became an Icon”), plays, and has appeared for media presentations and lectures on CNN, NPR, the BBC, The Tribeca Film Festival, and the NASA Space Flight Center.
